Just Say "Om"
Staying grounded in today’s fast-paced world isn’t easy. With all of the work and personal commitments we have to keep track of, it’s really important to carve out time to allow for moments of social-media-free peace and quiet.
One of the rituals we’ve embraced is a daily yoga practice. Now, don’t go running for the hills—yoga doesn’t have to mean spending 90 minutes in a room with a bunch of people who can hop into the perfect handstand without breaking a sweat (even when the temperature set to 105 degrees). For us, yoga simply means 10 minutes a day in the morning to flow through a series of stretches that any beginner can do. We’ve found it’s not only improved our moods, but as we’ve practiced, it’s increased our flexibility and balance, decreased our stress levels, and given our complexions a lovely, rosy glow (which we love).
All you need is a floor—although a good mat and some cute pants help, too—to get started (click on the links to view a pose how-to, compliments of Yoga Journal).
