Easy, Breezy Entertaining

Amongst her closest friends, Jessica is known for her epic parties. She loves to entertain and has figured out the perfect formula for a foolproof event. Jess likes to keep things simple: laidback and low key, with small details that make her events personal.

The Guest List

When entertaining, you will need to decide who’s coming: friends, family, or colleagues. Commit to a number of guests that you feel comfortable with and make your list.

The Invitation

Sometimes a text is enough, but services like Paperless PostGreenvelope, and Punchbowl.com let you get a little creative and they have great RSVP capabilities as well.

The Menu

There are many different options to accommodate whatever atmosphere you’re looking to create. Set your budget first and then work within that.

SOME OF MY FAVORITE PARTY STYLES ARE:

A Cocktail Party

The most budget friendly: Create cheese boards and antipasti trays to set out around the party. You can offer a signature drink to the menu for a dash of whimsy (it will help keep the cost of liquor down, too).

Buffet

Buffet-style meals are nice because they are more casual and your guests can eat as they wish. Most restaurants can provide delicious catering options for this kind of setting.

Let's Sit

For a more formal event, Jess loves a sit down dinner. We are obsessed with Casa de Perrin for all of our tablescape needs. You can rent beautiful dishware and fancy glasses to add a little something special to your party.

The Vibe

Good music and thoughtful décor can go a long way. Fresh flower and candles always make a space feel more intimate and are a simple way to add sophistication to any party. Depending on the event, you can go bold and add lots of color for a birthday party or stick with neutrals like whites, pinks, and greens for a bridal shower.

Hosting Outside?

Hang some twinkle lights and paper lanterns to make the space feel festive.

Finally

Make a special playlist that fits the mood you’re going for!

And Most Importantly…

Have fun! If you’re having a good time, your guests will, too.
