Meals I Can Make: Grilled Cheese with Ranch

My friends like to joke that at a restaurant, I like to order off of the kids menu.

I am a chicken fingers, quesadilla, grilled cheese kind of girl, and like all true Texans, I like to dip everything in Ranch dressing. This is one of my favorite basic recipes that I make over and over again.

Grilled Cheese Recipe
Made by Sincerely Kara

Makes 2 sandwiches.

Ingredients

4 slices good quality white bread, thick sliced
Organic mayonnaise for spreading
2 slices extra sharp cheddar cheese
2 slices medium cheddar cheese
2 slices Havarti cheese
2 fresh chives, chopped
Dried oregano
Ghee or butter to grease pan

Directions

1.

Grease pan with ghee or butter.

2.

Spread mayonnaise on one side of each of the slices of bread.

3.

Place the bread, mayonnaise side down, onto the pan over medium heat.

4.

Add cheese to the top of each piece of bread.

5.

Cook bread until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes.

6.

Before combining two pieces of bread, sprinkle on chopped chives and dried oregano to your taste.

7.

Combine your bread slices to make sandwich.

8.

Continue to cook on each side for about 30 seconds in order for the cheese to fully melt. You can also turn your heat down to low heat, if you notice the cheese needs a bit more time to melt and you want to ensure you don't burn the bread.

9.

Slice, top with extra chives and oregano if you'd like, and enjoy!

*For the ranch, I ended up using my favorite ranch in the photos, by Primal Kitchen.  But you can use your favorite ranch for dipping or I also found this great homemade ranch dressing recipe: https://www.saltandlavender.com/homemade-ranch-dressing/
