Meals I Can Make: Chocolate Covered Strawberries
A fun, delicious treat to make for Valentine's Day, or any special occasion! We love the four-ingredient list to get started (who doesn't have chocolate chips laying around?), and the freedom to add whatever toppings make you happy!
Enjoy!
Easy To Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries With The Sweetest Toppings
Ingredients:
1 cup chocolate chips
1-2 pinches pink Himalayan sea salt
½ tsp cinnamon
1-2 cartons organic strawberries
Toppings:
Coconut flakes
Crushed raw cashews
Mini chocolate chips
Organic pastel sprinkles
Pomegranate powder
Dried culinary edible rose petals (you can find at a local spice shop or order online)
Peanut butter
Candied ginger pieces
Directions:
1.
Wash strawberries and allow them to thoroughly dry before dipping.
2.
Using a double boiler, melt chocolate over the stove until it becomes a smooth consistency. Note: you can make your own double boiler by taking a glass mixing bowl and placing it over a saucepan. Add water to the saucepan, bringing it to a simmer. Place chocolate chips in glass bowl. Stir chocolate chips until they melt and it becomes a smooth chocolate consistency.
3.
Add in sea salt and cinnamon, and stir well.
4.
Move pot to another burner not on, and begin dipping your strawberries.
5.
Once you dip the strawberries, make sure to add your toppings quickly as the chocolate will begin to harden.
6.
I listed all the different toppings we used, but feel free to use any that sound fun to you!
7.
Place dipped strawberries on a parchment paper lined cutting board (use a size that will fit nicely in the fridge) and place in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
8.
Enjoy!
