Beauty Essentials: My Secret Weapons

As you know, I am a real beauty girl. My daughter loves going through my makeup drawers in the bathroom (she’s been known to sneak mascara to school in her backpack!). I have a lot of products I think are essential, but of course, I have my tried-and-true favorites. Here’s a list of what I always have close by:

Aquaphor

This product is my one-stop shop for my entire family year round. Aquaphor has so many uses for everything from healing chapped lips and to soothing dry skin and mild eczema patches. You can also use it to remove stubborn makeup, transform powder blushes and shadows into cream mixtures, and conceal split ends.

Jessica Simpson Fancy Love

Fancy Love has always been one of my favorite fragrances. It’s not too sweet and has just a little bit of amber in it to make it sexy. A quick spritz of this on my wrists lasts all day.

Sonya Dakar Nano Hydrator

With my past pregnancies, my skin was always super dehydrated … and this pregnancy is no different. This super soothing cream from Sonya Dakar is the one that works best for me. I apply it in the morning and evening, or whenever my skin feels a little dry during the day. It doesn’t dry oily, so my makeup can go right over the top.

Rita Hazan Weekly Remedy Treatment

Rita is not only a good friend and an amazing colorist, but she also makes the best hair products. Specially formulated for blondes (and all of the other hair colors you can imagine),  this lightweight, two-step treatment works instantly to repair my color-damaged hair and leaves it super soft and manageable.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

Second-day hair (and third), don’t care with this spray! I don’t like to wash my hair more than two or three times a week, and this spray removes oil and creates the texture I want on those in-between days. Another pro tip: I use it with my curling iron to make soft waves in my hair.

Milbon Inphenom Hair Treatment

I like to take extra-special care of my locks—especially with all the color processing it goes through—and this treatment has been my standby for years. It makes my hair soft, but not oily, and still holds my curl.

Epicuren Discovery Bio Peptide Serum

This product is like gold for my skin. This serum plumps up the skin to make it look more youthful and corrects and prevents visible signs of aging. And even with two kids and one on the way, I haven’t gotten wrinkles yet, so I think it must be working!

Epicuren Kukui Coconut After Bath Moisturizer

This has been my favorite body lotion for as long as I can remember. It’s hydrating and on days that I don’t wear fragrance, it keeps me smelling like coconuts!
