JS Travel Guide: Tulum
Tulum has quickly become one of our favorite destinations. It is a totally unique, off the beaten path (literally), straight out of Pinterest Mexican beach town.
The best way to get there is flying into Cancun and renting a car to drive to Tulum.
Once you arrive in Tulum, you will be greeted by a long road lined with lush jungle plants, crochet, dream catchers, cute little shops and boutique hotels.
Our go-to hotel is Nomade. We love the bohemian vibe (shoes optional).
They offer daily yoga and a variety of different meditation and wellness classes. The food is delicious and there are hammocks around every corner to ensure ultimate relaxation.

Posada Margherita is our favorite spot for Italian food.
The shabby chic decor and to die for boutique, makes this place a must see lunch spot.
Nighttime Fun
—
For dinner and live music, we are big fans of Gitano. It is located on the jungle side of the street, surrounded by lush trees and dimly lit by twinkle lights and a disco ball. They bring in bands and DJ’s from all over the world. So grab a drink and dance under the stars in this super fun, vibey jungle disco.
Kin Toh in the Azulik hotel has the most incredible views for happy hour. It's best to show up when they open (warning: people do line up to get in). The architecture of the hotel and restaurant makes it feel like you are in a giant tree house.
Shopping!
—
The shopping in Tulum is so good!
Just wandering down the main road, you will stumble upon so many cute and dreamy shops!
Spa Day
—
Book a treatment at the Yaan Wellness Spa to really spoil yourself. The design of this space is so beautiful and transports you to another world!
Finally, a tip to anyone booking their trip- Bring cash and bug spray!
A lot of the restaurants are cash only and the ATMs are not very reliable.
